"Do you get nervous when people use the “e” word—evangelism? You’re not alone. Many of us struggle with sharing our faith. We do not want to come across as pushy, or self-righteous, or weird. Join us as we explore together what it means to be a people who share Jesus’ good news about God’s kingdom."
Week 1 - Life with the One-and-Three God:
"Take the time - spend some thought- and write out who you feel God to be - your felt sense of who God is - the God we live with day in and day out. Secondly, get together with another Christian to talk it through: How does my understanding of God fit with who I know God to be in Jesus Christ." Jonathan's hope is that "in doing this we will start to take steps into living into deeper fellowship with our God who has reached out to us and saved us in Jesus Christ."
Week 2 - Notice (Care about your neighbor's life)
"Build bridges from need to God's hope."
"Evangelism is about our own hearts growing before it is about something worth doing."
Assignment: "Find a particular time - take stock of the needs around you. What are the needs that I know of for these people? And then say a prayer for them and see if there isn't a small way you can communicate that you see that need and you care."
Week 3 - "Biblical community is the hope of the world. The church is the body of Christ in the world. ...The church is the fruit of God's work - not our own."
To think about - "Inviting people into worship is inviting them into your life with God - that connection has to be present.
"Understand that at its most basic level you are inviting people into God's community that God is upholding, God is building and God is working to sustain."
