1. What were your ministry group's mission goals for 2016? a. Feed the homeless approximately 80 people on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at Pomona Valley Christian Center in Pomona (PVCC). b. Give a mini sermon (8-10 minutes) on Christian concept that applies to homeless people’s values and needs. c. Provide practical Christmas gifts usually back packs and sleeping bags for 100 people near December 25, 2016.
What was accomplished in 2016 in implementing these goals? What were goal failures experienced? a. We met the goals with a few days when the people count exceeded 120. b. On about 95% of the days we delivered a mini sermon. c. Several people asked to hear their problems and pray with them for relief from their issues. d. December 24, 2016 we gave out 30 back packs and 60 sleeping bags to the homeless. All of those items were paid for by Alternative Christmas.
What was your ministry group's life together goals for 2016? a. Our one main goal was and still is to replace ourselves by the end of 2016 as most of us have performed in this ministry for 5 years some up to 10 years and many are “aging” out.
What was the accomplishments and failures in implementing these 2016 life-together goals? a. We have enough new members including many members outside of LVHPC who routinely attend. Starting February 2017 we have a new moderator and are encouraging older members to retire if they want or serve fewer hours per month.
We only meet about 5 times this year we need a better commitment from members to come to the schedules meetings.
